Gather Your Materials
If you are lucky and your garden produced more than you can consume, remember your friends and neighbors who may not have your green thumb. Package your homemade jams, jelly, pickles, and preserves by decorating the canning jar lids with pretty fabric to turn homemade canned goods into a beautifully presented gift that is bound to be an appreciated gift.
Double the gift by sewing a buttonhole in the center of the fabric. Once the jar is empty, the recipient will have a bank for their kitchen windowsill.
Gather Your Materials- Fabric Scraps - 7" circles for wide mouth jars, 6" circles for regular mouth jars

Trimming the Edges of the Circles
Trim the edges of the circle as desired. Here are a few ideas to get you started:
- Use pinking shears to trim the edges of the circle.
- Zigzag the edge of the circle and apply narrow lace or trim to the edges.
- If you have a serger, use the rolled hem feature to finish the edges.
- Leave the top plain or be creative. Small appliqués or embroidery can be added to the center of the circle to really personalize the gift.
