Reis O'Brien

Reis O'Brien is a product designer in the consumer goods industry who has been an action figure collector for over three decades.

  • Product designer with a knowledge of pop culture and reseller of collectible action figures
  • 30 years of experience collecting action figures

Reis O'Brien wrote for The Spruce Crafts on the topic of action figures for over two years.

He has been an avid action figure collector for over 30 years starting with a Darth Vader action figure back in 1978.

Over the years, his interest in action figures went from "play" to "display" and he has even delved into the depths of action figure customizing, making one-of-a-kind figures out of various parts from other figures.

For several years, Reis learned the intricacies of the collectible market by finding rare action figures at thrift stores and flea markets and then, after a good cleaning and matching up with missing accessories, reselling the figures at toy shows and conventions.

Professionally, O'Brien is a senior product designer with a history of working in the consumer goods industry. He is skilled in product design, licensing, pop culture, and product development.
