Mollie Johanson

Mollie Johanson has loved creating and crafting cute things for as long as she can remember. She designs her own embroidery patterns and projects to make from the finished stitching and is often known as Wild Olive, which is also the name of her blog and product line.

Mollie grew up learning how to embroider, sew, knit, and more from family members. As an adult, she realized how much she enjoys crafting and took the time to learn more techniques and learn them well.

Starting with her own blog and Etsy shop, Mollie began the process of crafting professionally. She eventually started contributing to craft books, magazines, and blogs, including three years of writing for The Spruce Crafts. Her work regularly appears in magazines like Simply Sewing, Mollie Makes, Australian Homespun, and on Handmade Charlotte.

In addition to her published works, Mollie designs and sells embroidery patterns and stitching projects, and has taught several online embroidery courses.

Self- and family-taught in most crafting media, Mollie is constantly learning and trying new techniques to better herself. She holds an associate's degree in graphic design from Elgin Community College, which she regularly uses as she creates new patterns and projects.
