Lesley Shepherd

Lesley Shepherd was a former writer for The Spruce who contributed 246 articles over the course of more than eight years. She passed away in 2015. 

Leslie was a member of the International Guild of Miniature Artisans and a frequent contributor to The Doll's House Magazine. Lesley also taught workshops at miniature and gardening shows nationally and internationally. She was also a professional educator and craftsperson who taught a wide range of crafts in miniature to all ages for more than thirty years. With a background that includes designing and managing museum displays, including models, as well as teaching and outreach work via regular television and radio programs, Lesley's access to professional miniaturists and experience with museum collection and storage techniques provided her with a wealth of knowledge which she shared through writing, television, and radio.



Lesley earned her undergraduate degree from the University of British Columbia, extending it with studies in Adult Education and Garden History.
