This is a free crochet baby hat pattern. It uses the v-stitch which is an easy crochet stitch made up of double crochet stitches. The result is an openwork lacy design. Babies can use this hat during the summer months; they won't overheat yet it will keep them warm if there is a breeze. The lacy design is cuter than so many other basic crochet baby hat patterns.

Easy; if you can work double crochet stitches in the round and know how to increase then you can make this simple baby hat

Round 12 is optional; if you'd like the hat to be just a bit longer, repeat round 5 one more time before ending off.

Add Embellishment

You can leave the crochet baby hat as is for a simple, straightforward design. However, you could also add an embellishment or applique to dress it up. For example, add one or more crochet flowers to the design.
