Experience

After journalism school, Hilary got her start as a fact-checker at The Nation magazine, where she worked with well-known writers to check their work across breaking news and feature content for the historic publication. Since then, she's worked in the digital space as an editor, writer, part-time social media manager, and SEO specialist for brands like The Cut, Vanity Fair, and ELLE.com.

At Vanity Fair, she maintained a byline consistently found on the list of most-trafficked pieces on the site. At The Cut, ELLE.com, in local news, and through her freelance work, she has helped sites with their traffic goals by updating and executing SEO strategy.

Education

Hilary attended the Missouri School of Journalism, where she majored in both magazine writing and editing, focusing on news and lifestyle content for a city publication and graduated with a journalism degree in December 2014. Ten days later, she moved to New York City to begin her continued education in newsrooms and magazine offices across the industry.
