Chelsea Foy has been a DIY contributor for The Spruce since 2017. Previously, she has contributed to numerous other notable crafting outlets, including HGTV, Better Homes & Gardens, Brides Magazine, Redbook, Couch Magazine, Sweet Paul, West Elm, and more. Chelsea has extensive teaching experience, instructing DIY workshops throughout the United States.
Education
Chelsea's educational background is in music; prior to creating a business and a career in the visual and crafting arts, she was a high school music teacher. With a degree in secondary choral music education from California State University Stanislaus, Chelsea directed a choral program of 200 high school students. Eventually, life led her on a different path, toward the world of making, but she considers all forms of art to be intertwined. Creativity is her passion, and she firmly believes that all young people should have access to express themselves creatively, through any avenue that inspires them.
Publications
Chelsea has published two e-books, on crafting and painting. "Make Your Day" was published in 2013 and "Creative Painting and Beyond" was published in 2015.
