Earnest Bachrach Academy Award Medal
Extremely rare (only two other medals like this one are known to exist) Academy Award medal for still photography presented to Earnest Bachrach in 1947. A Cowboy Hat from "Big Jake," "The Cowboys," and "The Train Robbers." National General Pictures, 1971; Warner Bros., 1972; Warner Bros., 1973. Made of tan felt, colorful embroidery on leather hatband, inside has handwritten annotations in black felt tip ink reading "J. Wayne #2" and "Chuck... Roberson 2" (Wayne's longtime stunt double), stamps under inside band read "W.C.C." (Western Costume Company) and "American" (United American Costume Company/American Costume Corporation, Luster Bayless' company); worn by Wayne as he portrayed "Jacob McCandles," "Wil Andersen," and "Lane" in the three different films; also worn by Roberson in "Big Jake" as the two men frequently shared the same costume pieces.

John Waye "True Grit" Eye Patch
Eye patch worn by John Wayne as the legendary character Rooster Cogburn in Paramount Pictures' "True Grit." See more information from auction catalog below.
Made of black leather with fine wire mesh covering a cut-out hole; makeup residue still evident on inside patch; one of many worn by Wayne throughout the film as he portrayed the iconic character, Rooster Cogburn. According to Luster Bayless (Wayne's longtime costumer)] in the 1996 book, "Duke, We're Glad We Knew... You" by Herb Fagen, "...Duke...needed a fresh (eye) patch every day. Each morning he'd check the thing to see if there was any makeup inside it."
Please note that all the eye patches made for this film were slightly unique in shape since Bayless made them by hand.

Marilyn Monroe Chair Used in Final Photo Session
Italian-style carved chair with green velvet upholstery. This chair was used in the July 1962 photo shoot with Life magazine photographer Allan Grant.
The chair had three owners since Marilyn's death. Letters from the first and second owners accompany the chair. The photographs were taken in Monroe's Brentwood, Calif. home. Grant asked Monroe to choose casual clothes to wear. She chose a black sweater, capris and spiked heels. The effect of the heels is evident in a small tear in the... upholstery. As Monroe sat on the back of the chair she also caused a small crack in the wood.
